It's Friyay! So Have a Drink With Me!

Happy Friday, everyone! It has been one long week...one of those weeks where the first thing I said when I got home is “I need a drank!!” Has it been one of those weeks for you? If so, then why don’t you join me for a drink! I have the perfect drink in mind for us! A drink that I have sort of been obsessed with recently.  Let me introduce to you...The Orange Slice Martini.

I discovered this yummy, refreshing citrus-y drink at a steakhouse recently, and they have the most amazing happy hour!  Have you all been to the Keg Steakhouse?  Wish I can go ALL. THE. TIME!  After a little bit of research and refining the recipe to suit my own tastes, I was able to create my own version of the Orange Slice Martini. I even bought myself a cocktail shaker from Home Goods to experiment. (I really find every excuse, or opportunity rather, to shop at Home Goods.)

I'm enjoying this photo shoot with my drink.

Oh, and here is the recipe, in case any of you really need a drink today as well!  Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Ingredients

Crushed Ice
1 ounce (shot) of Absolut Mandrin Vodka
½ ounce of Triple Sec
1 ½ ounce of freshly squeezed orange juice (except I use Simply Orange)
1 ½ ounce of freshly squeezed lemon juice (except I use Simply Lemon)
Orange Sugar (for glass rim)
Orange Slice for garnish

Directions

  1. Sugar rim your martini glass - this is optional, but I would highly recommend as the sugar cuts the tartness of the citrus (and the kick to the vodka), and let’s face it - it looks prettier.

  2. Add a scoop of ice

  3. Add the Vodka and Triple Sec and stir to make sure the liquor is nice and cold

  4. Add orange juice and lemon juice

  5. Shake, shake, shake!

  6. Pour everything, including the ice in your glass

  7. Add the orange slice for garnish

  8. Enjoy!

CHEERS!!  Have a wonderful weekend!
